Death Certificates
A Certified Funeral Director's Statement Of Death is necessary before anything can be done and obtained through your Funeral Director. It is a good idea to obtain multiple copies of a Funeral Director's Statement of Death as many agencies require a certified certificate and not a photocopy.
We never charge for Statements of Death so if you ever need more, please contact us and we can have more ready for you.
In some cases, an Alberta Death Certificate is required. This can be ordered from any Alberta Registry and usually arrives by mail in about 5 business days. This document is often required for use outside of Canada. This document does not identify the cause of death.
Insurance companies will sometimes ask for a Medical Certificate of Death. This can also be ordered from any Alberta Registry and usually arrives by mail in about 5 business days. This document does identify the cause of death.
