Obituary of Nola Bechthold

Nola Ruby Bechthold (nee Morgan) born October 16, 1948, died January 14, 2020, in Strathmore, Alberta, surrounded by her family after a courageous and lengthy battle with breast cancer. Nola leaves to mourn her loving husband of 50 years, Charles; two sons Danny (Angela) and David (Ivana); brothers Patrick (Judy), Danny (Heather), Dale (Shelley), and Alan (Valerie); sisters Sheila (Jerry), and Darlene; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her father, L.E. Morgan, mother Evelyn, and brothers Terry and Jack. Nola was an avid cook, reader, nature, and animal lover. She was particularly fond of the “cabin” at Buffalo Lake, where Nola and Chuck spent many hours enjoying their passions. Nola was also a collector and loved all her treasures, but her most beloved treasures were her husband Chuck and sons Danny and David. Nola’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Fanning, and the amazing nurses and staff of Homecare and the Strathmore Hospital. In keeping with Nola’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nola’s name directly to the Wheatland & Area Hospice Society (Box 2154, Strathmore, AB, T1P 1K2 or online at wheatlandhospice.ca/donate).
