HENDRICKS, Mary Josephine (nee Riley)
April 7th, 1927 – October 20th, 2016
Mary was born on April 7th, 1927 in Trochu, AB and raised in Three Hills AB. On June 19th, 1951 she married Norman Hendricks of Rockyford AB, where they started their life together.Mary and Norman have made Strathmore their home for the last 51 years. With her family at her side, Mary passed away peacefully at Sagewood Seniors Community, in Strathmore, on October 20, 2016 at the age of 89. Mary was a Loving Wife and Caring Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Mary was a faithful member of the Roman Catholic community and member of the Catholic Woman’s League. Praying the family rosary was a daily devotion.Mary is survived by her husband Norman Louis of 65 years, seven children; Linda (Ian) McGillis, Michael (Nettie) Hendricks, Daniel (Kathryn) Hendricks, Anna (Glen) Tucker, Rita (Steven) Eeles, Donna (Kevin) Eeles and Barbara Hendricks, all of Strathmore AB. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; Catherine, Terry, Scott, Brett, Lindsay, Garrett, Christie, Evret, Bradley, Justin, Amanda, Sheldon, Chelsea, Rebecca and Joshua, seventeen great grandchildren, a brother, Joseph Riley, a sister, Clara Morrison and many nieces and nephews.Mary was pre-deceased by her parents, Michael and Clare Riley, one daughter, Catherine Hendricks, one grandson, Jason Hendricks, two sisters; Geraldine Matus and Joan Riley-Dittman, four brothers; John Riley, Frank Riley, James Riley and Albert Riley. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Wheatland Funeral Chapel (202 Lakeside Blvd, Strathmore AB.) at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Hope Community Covenant Church (245 Brent Blvd, Strathmore AB.) at 11:00 a.m. The Family thanks the Staff of AgeCare Sagewood Community in Strathmore, for all their kindness to Mary and their personal and medical support over the last four years and especially the last week. Mary would say, God bless you. Thanks also to the Staff of Wheatland Funeral Home for their Care and Support during this time of family loss.
