Obituary of Richard John GIBSON

GIBSON, Richard John July 13, 1945 – August 31, 2016 Richard John Gibson passed away peacefully on August 31, 2016 in Strathmore Alberta at the age of 71. Richard was born on July 13, 1945 in Buxton England. After immigrating to Canada in 1976, Richard and his young family built a life in Calgary where he enjoyed many outdoor activities including hiking, cross country skiing and hang gliding. More recently, Richard enjoyed playing chess with his sons and visits from his family. Richard is survived by his wife Jennifer; his sons Lee (Collette) and James (Carrie Lee); his grand-children Keira, Averie, Derek, Ryder and Crosby; his sister Judith (Laurence) and numerous nieces and nephews. Richard is predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Eva Gibson. The family would like to thank Helene Brisson, Peter Murray and Cassandra Richaud for their loving and compassionate care of Richard over the last few years. A Celebration of Richard’s Life will be held at Mahogany Beach Club (29 Masters Park SE Calgary) on Sunday, September 4th, 2016 at 1 pm.
