Obituary of Lyle Carbert
On Thursday, May 28, 2020, Lyle Carbert entered into the presence of his Saviour and Lord at Strathmore Hospital at Strathmore, Alberta.
Lyle was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, May 30, 1935. As a young boy, he moved with his family to Red Lake, Ontario, where he did his schooling. Growing up in Red Lake developed a love of the outdoors as well as sports. He also continued his passion for music that had begun with violin lessons in Winnipeg. Upon graduating from high school in Red Lake, he went to Western University on a football scholarship until he felt the call of God on his life to full time ministry. He then attended Eastern Pentecostal Bible College in Peterborough, Ontario, where he met his wife, Kathleen (Kay) Fairs. They married on September 12, 1959, in Tillsonburg, Ontario. After graduating from Bible College, they embarked on a life of ministry. They pastored in Castleton, Ontario; St. Mary's, Ontario; Drumheller, Alberta; Rocky Mountain House, Alberta; and Cochrane, Alberta. They ministered together while in Bible College and continued as the Lord lead them to numerous other places and countries over 60 plus years.
Lyle is survived by his loving wife, Kay; children, Candace (Steve) Knappe, Kimberlee (Bob) Croker and Gordon (Tracy) Carbert; grandchildren, Rikina (Adam) Smith, Daryk Durocher, Jeremy (Emily) Croker, Joshua (Kaitlyn) Croker, Cooper Carbert, McKinley Carbert, Christopher Knappe, Cailee Knappe, Amanda Knappe; great grandchildren, Logan Smith, Aurora Smith, Maisy Croker; one brother, Keith (Marg) Carbert; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lyle was predeceased by his parents, Earl and Mamie Carbert; brother, Barrie Carbert, who is survived by his wife, Joan Carbert; sister, Barb Gouriluk, who is survived by her husband, Art Gouriluk.

A graveside service will take place by invitation only in accordance with current provincial guidelines. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date, Lord willing.
