Obituary of Catherine Mary GIESBRECHT

GIESBRECHT, Catherine Mary “Cathy” Catherine (Cathy) Mary Giesbrecht (Nichols) (nee Van Seggelen) peacefully passed away on June 3rd after a long brave battle with cancer surrounded by love and her family. Cathy was born Nov.3, 1954 in Winnipeg, Mb. Her father was in the army so they moved around many times before settling down in Winnipeg. In 2005 Cathy and Ken relocated to Strathmore Ab. Family and friends were Cathy’s true passion and delight. Cathy is survived by her loving husband, Ken. Her children Shannon (Peter), Tim (Tracy), Ryan (Pam), Mike (Brittany), her grandsons Jesse, Brady, and Aiden. Her sister Sharon (Rob) and her brother Mike. Nieces Charlene (Mike), Kellie (Patrick), Meighan (Tanner), Samantha. Nephews Nicholas, Andrew. Cathy was involved in her community and took great delight in helping others. She truly enjoyed her many years working with seniors. The family would like to thank everyone at the Strathmore hospital who cared for Cathy. Special thanks to Dr. Sader for his care and commitment to Cathy and the whole family.
