It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Edward Romaniuk on April 29, 2016. Ed was born on October 16, 1938 in Ethelbert, Manitoba to Taras and Mary Romaniuk. He received his education in Kulish, Manitoba. At the age of 16, he moved to Dauphin, Manitoba and was employed at Dauphin Tire Shop. In 1965 Ed and Darlene moved west to Calgary, Alberta. He worked at General Tire Retread Plant until 1972 when he moved with his family to Strathmore, Alberta. He owned and operated Strathmore Tire and Battery Ltd. with his family until 2006. He met and cherished many people who became friends and customers forever. He totally enjoyed coffee with his buddies at Husky and the “wheatie” every day. Snowmobiling was a passion of his, going to the mountains as often as he could. His family was the centre of his life and he leaves to mourn his wife Darlene of 51 years; daughter Brenda (Bob) Vert; granddaughters Alexandra and Roberta; daughter Lorrie (Ward Wallace) Romaniuk from Bassano; grandson Nick (Liza) Peoples; great-granddaughter Annabeth Peoples; grandson Lucas (Melisa) Peoples; and from a previous marriage he leaves son Greg (Colleen) Romaniuk; granddaughter Leah (Brian) Romaniuk, grandson Adam Romaniuk, and son Ken Romaniuk of Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Alice Sawchuk from Thunder Bay, his brother and sister-in-law Walter and Savenne Romaniuk from Thunder Bay, and his brother-in-law Steve Makowski of Dauphin. He is survived by his brother Russell (Eleanor) Romaniuk from Thunder Bay, his sister Sally Makowski from Dauphin, his brother Orest (Donna) Romaniuk from Brandon, his brother Mike (Sylvia) Romaniuk from Ethelbert, his brother David (Carole) Romaniuk, of Sherwood Park, his aunt Margaret Grolowsky from Fort Erie and numerous nieces and nephews.
