Obituary of Candice Lianne BURNE

BURNE, Candice Lianne (Candie) March 3, 1954 – March 28, 2016 It is with deep sadness that we announce the loss of our wife, mother and grandmother. Candie passed away after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family on Monday, March 28, 2016 at the age of 62 years. Candie spent her childhood growing up on the family farm at Gleichen, AB and attended school at Cluny Bow Valley, AB. After completing her high school in Calgary, she married her soul mate, James (Jim) Burne and returned to the family farm where they farmed and raised their family together. Candie lived a joyous life sharing many wonderful times with family and friends. She loved to travel, especially to Mexico. Candie is remembered for her great creative abilities, love of music, her generosity and infectious smile. Candie is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 43 years, Jim; her children Michael (Mike) Burne, Cara Burne; and her precious grandchildren, Eddie, Mack, and Olie. She leaves to mourn her sister Elsie Jean Floen and brother Jim Chartrand (Susan). She will also be missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends. Candie is predeceased by her parents, Olie and Elsie Chartrand; brother Bob; niece Michon; and most recently, father-in-law Robert (Bob) Burne. In lieu of a funeral service, Candie’s request is to have a Celebration of Life which will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Cluny Community Hall from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Candie’s family would like to thank the compassionate and caring staff at the Agape Hospice for providing comfort and support during her stay there.
