Obituary of Irene Marie Therese Dickson

 

It is with great sadness that Irene Marie Therese Dickson (nee Martel) born March 16, 1932 loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother Passed away on December 13, 2020 at the age of 88 at Foothills Hospital, Calgary, Alberta.

 

Irene was born in Quebec where she lived and worked for several years.  In 1955 she married Alexander Dickson and had 4 children.

 

In 1976 the family moved to Calgary Alberta where Irene worked for the City of Calgary Police department and then moved on to work at the Court of Queen’s Bench.

 

Irene retired at 55 and moved to Westbank, British Columbia and a while later Sicamous, British Columbia where she enjoyed the mountains and lakes for several years.

 

After Alexander passed away, Irene moved to Strathmore Alberta in 2006 where she made her home for several years until 2014 when she moved back to Calgary to live with her daughter Christine Dickson.

 

Irene is survived by her 4 children –Alexander Dickson – Son of Kelowna British Columbia, Christine Dickson – Daughter of Calgary Alberta, Janet Dickson – Daughter of High River Alberta, Nancy Iriye (Harry Iriye) –Daughter of Langdon Alberta.

 

She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren

Sean Dickson - Grandson, Cassandra Fazekas- granddaughter and her children, Alexandre Savoie, Zoltan Savoie, Michaela Savoie.   Leslie Payne - (Jeremy Payne) – Granddaughter.   Krystle Lester (Sean Lester) - Granddaughter and their children Brooke Lester, Ryder Lester.  Paige Iriye (Chris Iriye) Granddaughter, Sheldon Dickson (Terry Lynn Cockbain-Dickson) Grandson, Elizabeth Dickson Rose Dickson-Makelki ( Brodi Evans) Granddaughter and their children Lexus Makelki and Brock Evans.
