Obituary of David James NACLIA

NACLIA, David James October 7, 1942 – September 22, 2015 Dave Naclia was born in Canora, SK, and retired in Muirfield Lakes, Lyalta, AB. Known for his boisterous laugh and passion for golf, Dave will be greatly missed by his family and a large community of friends. Dave passed away peacefully on September 22, 2015. Dave made his mark in the oil patch – first in Fort McMurray and then later as a procurement consultant on projects across Canada. He is best known by the people that he encountered throughout his life as a fair, honest, non-judgemental individual. His biggest love was his family and the game of golf. Dave was a dedicated volunteer whose larger than life demeanor always softened when it came to animals which shone through during his role as a caring foster family for the Calgary Basset Rescue. Dave is survived by his wife Darlene; his daughter Janet; grand-bassets Sammie and Lexy; brothers Eugene (Sharon), Donald, Bernie (Judy) and Brian (Wendy); sisters Phyllis Holodniuk (Mike) and Marcella Tress (Gary); and stepfather Metro Melnychuk as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his parents John and Annie Naclia. Dave’s wishes were to be cremated without a service. An evening to celebrate his life was held with just close family and friends in place of a service.
