Obituary of Lorna Jean MITCHELL

MITCHELL, Lorna Jean November 19, 1930 – September 13, 2015 Lorna passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Strathmore, Alberta at the age of 84 years. She is survived by her children, Bryce Mitchell and Carol (Rick) Appleton; grandchildren Matthew and Colin Mitchell of Calgary, and Joanne (Riley) Kendrick, Elizabeth and Max Appleton of Strathmore. Lorna was born November 19, 1930 in Vulcan, Alberta to parents Charles Russell Robson and Violet Lyle Robson. She had a wonderful childhood in Vulcan, after which she moved to Calgary and completed school at Henderson Business College. Returning to Vulcan, she married Donald Mitchell and went on to own/operate several businesses and farming operations with him. They spent some time at Rocky Mountain House, farming in the area as well as operating a local print shop. In Lorna’s later years she lived in Strathmore where she was able to be close to her dear family and friends. She was a kind and gentle soul who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Lorna was predeceased by her husband, Donald Mitchell, in 2005 and her sister, Leta McNaughton, in 2007.
