Obituary of Sandra Lynn Clarke

November 11, 1943 – March 30, 2021

Lynn was born in Springhill, NS, a small mining town. She moved to and lived in Ontario where she raised her two children John and Patty.

Lynn worked many jobs in Ontario but her favorite was working for Gilbey’s Gin as an accountant before moving to Alberta in 1980.  She worked for Paliser Grain for many years and was respected by all the farmers.  She also worked as a secretary at West Island College in Calgary and was loved by all the students.

In 2002 Lynn moved to Saskatchewan with Bob Clare, her husband of 24 years.  In 2019 Lynn and Bob moved back to Alberta due to her health condition and to be closer to her son and daughter.

Lynn is survived by her loving husband Bob, son John (Barb) Welch, daughter Patricia (Bob) Roth; grandchildren Jessy-Lynn Peterson, Misty Roth, Orry Roth and great grand daughter Charlie Roth.  She is also survived by her step daughter Theresa Phillip.  Lynn was predeceased by her son Barry Welch, parents Elton Clarke and Jacqueline (Lutz), and many aunts and uncles.

Lynn was always full of life.  She had a great sense of humour, loved to dance, loved the outdoors and she loved to bird watch.  Most of all she loved her children, grandchildren and husband.  She will be greatly missed.

Our family would like to thank all the staff at the Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre for all their loving care and support.  After speaking with staff over the past couple of days, Lynn held a huge place in their hearts and we know she will be truly missed there also.

If desired, memorial donations may be made directly to the Sheldon M Chumir Health Centre (1213 - 4 St. SW Calgary, AB.  T2R 0X7)
