KUCHLE, Marie Francois Claire
February 22, 1948 – Calgary, AB
June 14, 2015 – Okotoks, AB
On June 14, 2015, Marie Francois Claire Corbiell Kuchle (Claire) passed away surrounded by her loving family. Claire leaves behind her partner, Don Wegener, her children and their spouses: Darrin and Merry Kuchle of Calgary and Trevor Kuchle and Michelle Grant of Golden, BC. Claire also leaves behind three grandchildren, Will, Nicole and Evan Kuchle, her brother Raymond Corbiell and her nieces and nephews, Vanessa (and Steve) Perkins, Ramona (and Alistair) Hill and Mike Corbiell. Claire lived her entire life on the farm of her family in Cluny, AB. Living on her farm among the golden wheat fields and coulees of the Alberta prairies was her happy place. Claire loved her small community filled with family and friends. Claire was known far and wide for her amazing cooking and her green thumb. Sharing the bounty of her garden or the fruits of her labours in the kitchen was her love language. From her famous popcorn balls at Halloween to her amazing butter tarts at Christmas, she poured all her love into anything she made in the kitchen. Family and friends knew that her door was always open for a visit, a cookie and a cup of tea. Claire also opened her home and her table to friends and strangers from the world over. If she was cooking, all were invited. Claire happily shared her life for the last 21 years with her partner, Don. Together they kept the farmyard immaculate and full of the flowers that made Claire so happy. They also worked tirelessly on her much-loved vegetable garden. Claire will be reunited with her parents, Adelard and Berthe Corbiell and her best friend Anne Moynihan. Her family and friends will miss her beautiful spirit and the love that she showed to everyone she met. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Cluny, AB. at 10:00 a.m. The family asks that donations be made directly to the Foothills Country Hospice Society (Box 274, Okotoks, AB T1S 1A5) in lieu of flowers.
