Obituary of Muriel Ann Brownridge

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Muriel, after a brave fight with cancer at the age of 74 years. She is survived by her loving husband, Bill of 52 years; three children, Jeff (Kristie), Janine (Mike), and Jordan; six grandchildren, Hayley, Dylan, Shelby, Daxton, Raelyn & Jordan; two brothers, Jim and Gene (Betty); as well as two nieces, Melissa and Sheri (Travis); and nephew, Clint (Kelly). She was predeceased by her parents Arne & Etta, sister-in-law, Sharon and nephew, Brent.

Muriel worked in Calgary in the retail industry at both Eatons and Sears while raising her family. She loved animals and birds with a special fondness for cats and blue jays. Bill and Muriel retired to Strathmore in 2012 where Muriel enjoyed Happy Gang activities making some very close friends in the club, also riding her bike and walking. Bill and Muriel enjoyed 6 amazing winter vacations in Mesa Arizona where the park events were very enjoyable, and many friendships were made with people from all over North America.   She loved her children and grandchildren very dearly. She could often be found with her grandchildren, always visiting and playing with them while they were growing up, she wasn’t afraid to get down on the floor and play cars or dolls, taking them shopping or to the park.

Muriel will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. 

Due to the ongoing Covid restrictions, a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
