Obituary of Rosaire Robert Boutin

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rosaire (Ross) Boutin Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend at the age of 69, after a brave battle with Lung Cancer on Saturday May 8, 2021.

Ross was born in Domremy Saskatchewan, on Oct 22, 1951. He was a devoted family man and active member of each community he became a part of. He was a member of the Morinville Volunteer Fire Department for a number of years, managed & coached minor hockey in Calgary, and he was a keeper of the cul-de-sac that he lived on in Strathmore. Ross was a heavy duty mechanic by trade until his retirement in 2019.  Married to Irene for 37 years before her passing in 2011, they raised their family of 4 kids (Ryan, Melissa, Lee and Tessa) and opened their home to many foster children welcoming Penny into the family.

In 2013 Ross found his soul mate Liz, whom he had an instant connection with and they became best friends. They married in September of 2015 and they called Strathmore home with Ryan. Together they lived life to the fullest. They shared some amazing travels, always laughing and spending time with their many friends enjoying Miller time, Caesar Sunday, Chicken wings at OJ's or a brew at Origin's.

Ross loved Hockey and was a dedicated Edmonton Oilers fan as well as a lover of Classic Country music. He was well known for his hard work ethic and always was willing to lend a hand.  When he wasn’t at home working in the garage, he was usually out helping a friend or neighbour with a vehicle, a home renovation project or on the golf course. You couldn’t walk in a room and say hi without him rubbing the top of your head and messing up your hair and giving a chuckle.

The family would like to thank Ross’ doctor Dr. A Kelly, and homecare nurse Nicole for all of their kindness, compassion, and support; As well as the acute care medical team at Strathmore Hospital.

Ross was predeceased by his parents, Adjutor and Jeanne Boutin; two brothers, Roger and Real and his first wife, Irene. He is survived by his loving wife,Liz; six children, Ryan, Melissa (Jason), Lee (Nicole), Tessa, Jonathan and Penny (Dave); seven grandchildren, Reaghan, Emily, Sophie, Walter, Fletcher, Dairl and Fawna-Lee; two brothers, Paul and Denis; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Due to current Covid restrictions, a memorial gathering will be planned at a late date.
