Obituary of Lester Norman BERRETH

BERRETH, Lester Norman December 15, 1926 – February 25, 2015 Lester was born December 15, 1926 in Swalwell, Alberta, near Beiseker, to Gus and Bertha Berreth. He grew up on the family farm just East of Beiseker where he attended the nearby school. He helped his Dad on several areas of land over the years near Balzac and Dalroy. In 1952, Lester married Ruth and they continued farming until retirement in 1983. Lester is survived by his wife, Ruth; son Larry (Wendy) and step-grandchildren Kathleen and Chrissy; daughter Brenda (Peter) and grandchildren Tanya (Brett) and Scott (Tiffany); sisters Merly and Agnus (Lester); brother Gilbert (Eileen); and numerous nieces and nephews. Over the years, they enjoyed a lot of camping, water skiing, fishing, and being involved in the Dalroy community. Lester loved Golf and was a member of the Strathmore Golf Club. They enjoyed a lot of traveling to Palm Springs in the winter as well as holidays to Cuba, Jamaica, and Costa Rica. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Lord of All Lutheran Church (Strathmore) at 1:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held earlier that day at Mountain View Memorial Gardens at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation (#200, 119-14 St. N.W., Calgary, T2N 1Z6).
