Obituary of Winnifred Walls

With great sadness, the family of Winnifred (Winnie) Walls announces her passing on August 25, 2021 at the age of 85 years young. She is predeceased by both of her parents, her brother, and her sister. She is survived by her only son Tim Walls, grandchildren Brad, Corey, Tara, and many great grandchildren.

Mom was born on February 3, 1936 and raised on a farm North of Linden, AB. She moved to Calgary and was a draft person for an oil company. She resided in Calgary until moving to Sagewood Age Care Facility in Strathmore, where she passed.

She can be remembered for her fishing, hiking, and love for Drumheller, where she would take her son, and grandchildren camping, fishing, and many fossil hunting adventures. We will always remember her love for A&W mozza burgers and a beer. Mom loved gardening and spent many hours in the back yard with her best friend, kitty the cat.  She can also be remembered by her nonstop running of the stock market. She loved to cook and made many family recipes which are still carried on by her family

Mom had a long battle with Dementia and Alzheimer’s, which made her life very hard, but she always remained positive and strong willed.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors, and staff at Sagecare for the exceptional care they gave mom.
