Raymond Wayne Badgley (Fonzie)

January 02, 1948 – October 18, 2021

 

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to a husband, father, and grandfather.  Ray passed away peacefully at the Strathmore Hospital surrounded by family. Ray and his wife Sharon have lived in Gleichen for over 46 years.

 

Ray loved his work on the Crowfoot Ferry where he was for 15yrs, his second love was working on the Alberta Highways with, Alberta Transportation, Carmacks and Ledcor.

 

Ray will always be remembered for his great laugh, sense of humor and generosity.  Raymond loved his family dearly.  He loved playing and watching hockey as well as the rodeo. He was and loved being the dedicated driver for his kids and grandkids to rodeo and sports. 

 

Ray is now enjoying his journey to the next big event in his life.

 

Ray was predeceased by Harley Badgley (son), Les and Stan Badgley (brothers). Ray is survived by his loving wife Sharon Badgley, his two sons Stacey and Curtis Badgley. Brothers Gary Badgley and Wayne Reichert (Porky).  Grandchildren Damon, Jessie, Janie and Derk.  Great grandchild Hazel and two nieces Carla-Jo and Crystal Rae.

 

Due to covid, a private Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Wheatland Funeral Chapel, Strathmore followed by the interment at Gleichen Cemetery. A private family memorial luncheon will follow at Curtis’s home in Gleichen.

 

Donations may be made to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.ca) or the Canadian Cancer Society (www.canadiancancer.ca) in memory of Ray.
