Obituary of Wesley George Shirritt

Warrant Officer, Wesley George Shirritt, 82, residing in Strathmore, Alberta, Canada passed away peacefully on March 19, 2022 in the care of Strathmore District Hospital.

Wes was born in Sainte Rose Du Lac, Manitoba to Pauline Paradis and George Shirritt on September 18, 1939, spending most of his informative years growing up in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Wes retired from the Canadian Armed Forces in November 1979 after serving his country for 23 years.

Wesley is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jenny Patri-Shirritt formerly of Mundare, Alberta, daughter Sherry Lee Shirritt-Teague, son Wesly Alan Shirritt, granddaughter Sarah Jean Falk, grandson Wesley Cameron Teague, great granddaughter Aria Rose Falk, brother Charles Shirritt and sister Muriel Deicont.

He is predeceased by both his parents, and sisters Merle Kopilas and Linda Fifi.

Those who knew Wes knew him being a person full of stories and his love of cookies and ice cream. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all those who had the opportunity to call him a friend.

A burial service will be held at Strathmore Cemetery Field of Honor on April 8, 2022 at 11:00 am with Charles Shirritt and members of the Royal Canadian Legion officiating. Following the graveside service, the Celebration of Life will be held at the Strathmore Royal Canadian Legion Hall #10 (230-2nd Ave. Strathmore).
