Obituary of Charlotte Hoover

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Charlotte Hoover on April 25, 2022 at the age of 91.

 

She was born and raised in Isham, Saskatchewan and in 1955 married Cecil Hoover from Delia Alberta. Together they farmed around the Delia area and raised 4 children. Mom and dad had many enjoyable years of harvesting crops, raising livestock and tending to large gardens.   Mom remained on the farm even after the death of Cecil in 1993.  Mom enjoyed spending many hours working at Beds & Borders Greenhouse which was the highlight of her springs.  Her love for flowers was known by all in the community. Charlotte was a big part of the Delia Fall Fair and the Seniors Centre where she attended weekly coffee time.

 

Our mother spent many enjoyable hours with the grandchildren on the farm and was always glad to see them come home for our Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving festivities.

 

Later on mom moved to Delia to be closer to her friends and community activities. After that she then moved into Walden Care Centre for more care, here she enjoyed the company of friends around her on a daily basis. Mom could always be found at the front chatting with the other residents or watching the coming and goings of people.   She was a very sociable and well loved person no matter where her home was.

 

Charlotte was pre-deceased by her husband Cecil in 1993, she is survived by children Brad and his wife Norrain and family, Marilyn (Marnie) and husband Richard and family, Shelly and husband Joe and family and Murray and his partner Louise and his son Cole.

 

Charlotte will be very deeply missed by all that knew her.

A private viewing was held on April 27, 2022 with family only in Strathmore Alberta.
