Obituary of Elizabeth Anne Sanden

May 15, 1951 – May 27, 2022

“My Kids’ Mom”

Betty was born in High River, and raised in Bow Island Alberta with her 9 siblings.  She was a caregiver from the beginning, frequently assisting with the care of younger siblings, which helped her secure her first teaching position a year before graduating from university with her teaching degree in 1973.   She enjoyed teaching until 1977 when she transitioned to her true calling of raising her family.  In later years she continued to be heavily involved with her family, caring for multiple members of her extended family.  She always cherished time with her children and grandchildren.  She loved to give back through her crafting and sewing, and frequently donated the results of her labours.

She will be sadly missed by her children Nicole Sanden, Jennifer Leonard, Jill Sanden, and Andy (Stephanie) Sanden, and her grand children Julie, Nicholas and Benjamin.  She will also be missed by her siblings Kathy (Bryant) Laboret, Pat (Gord) Worobec, Marg (Harvey) Robertson, Doug (Bianca) Brosz, and Susan Brosz.  Fondly remembered by her in-laws Lorna Becker, Liz Davidson, Rhonda Brosz, Marvin Ruggles, Al Sanden, Donna (Keith) Sanden-Nelson, Peter (Deb) Sanden, Wendy (Richard) Clark, Gail (Don) Jensen and Susan (Randy) Monks, and 38 nieces and nephews, along with numerous family and friends.  She was pre-deceased by her husband Charles Sanden, her siblings Jack, Vic, David and Terry, her parents Pat and Elroy, and her in-laws Helen and Clifford.

Betty devoted her life to her faith, and was fully prepared for the next stage of her journey.  We can be comforted by the fact she is finally home.

She was her kids' mom.  Rest in peace
