Obituary of Patricia Johnston GATES

GATES, Patricia Johnston Patricia Johnston Gates passed away in her sleep at the Vulcan Extendicare on December 15, 2014 at the age of 89 years. Pat was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on February 10, 1925. She was predeceased by her husband Paul Gates who died on March 25, 1989, her siblings Phyllis, Crissie and Stan and her grandson Curtis. She will be dearly missed by her sister-in-law Marg Sumner of Thunder Bay, Ontario; her four sons, Randy (Colleen) of Chestermere, Lyle (Marjorie) of Medicine Hat, Brett (Debbie) of Standard, Murray (Linda) of Strathmore along with 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, special niece Myrna Kurina of Lethbridge along with numerous other nieces and nephews. Pat had many passions in her life. Besides being very proud of her family, grand children, and great grandchildren Pat was an avid fan of curling, and she spent endless hours cross-stitching, knitting and crocheting. Her beautiful handiwork will be enjoyed by many for years to come. A funeral service will be held on Saturday December 20, 2014 at the Standard Community Hall at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow at Standard Cemetery.
