Obituary of David Lee Skinner
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of David Lee Skinner, aged 55 years, on July 4, 2022 of heart failure. David was born in Rencontre West, Newfoundland on November 22, 1966 but grew up at Fortune, Newfoundland .
David is predeceased by his parents Jane and Kyrl Skinner and grandfather Ruben DeGruchy. He is survived by his sons Brandon Skinner (Sequillion) and Trevor Butt, sisters Sylvia Smith and Edith Ryan, brothers Larry Skinner, Terrence DeGruchy, Michael Skinner, Joseph Skinner, Robert Skinner, and Christopher Skinner.
David left Newfoundland in 1997 and moved to Calgary, Alberta. He loved nothing more than cooking a big feed for family and friends. He was friendly and loved to laugh, and kittens were his favorite animals. He had a big heart. David loved to be on the ocean whenever given the chance and he also loved to trout fish.
David had some struggles in life as many of us do. He dearly loved his son Brandon who shares his dad's love of food and cooking. David always wished he had more time with his son Trevor.
A celebration of David's life will take place on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Wheatland Funeral Chapel, Strathmore at 1:00 p.m.
