Obituary of Ron Thornhill

We are sad announce the passing of our father, Ronald Beverley Thornhill. He was born on November 13, 1934, in Toronto, Ontario. Dad was the last surviving sibling from a family of thirteen children of Bruce & Evelynn Thornhill. 

 

Dad passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Sunday, October 23, 2022.

Predeceased by his loving wife Shirley Thornhill in 1982.

 

Dad had 2 true passions - horses and trucking. He grew up working with horses, and his love of draft horses continued throughout his life. Trucking was also a significant part of his adult life. 

He was the proud owner and operator of his own company “R. Thornhill Trucking” for many years until his retirement. 

 

Anyone who knew Dad would remember his kindness, his horsemanship skills - especially with the draft horses, his generosity and wonderful sense of humour.

 

Dad was the loving father of 4 children: Vicki, Wendy, Kelly, and Ron, father in law to Kathy, and Grandfather aka “Papa T” to Grace and Austin.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, details to follow.
