Obituary of Bonnie Myrtle Scott
March 24, 1937 - October 30, 2022
It is with loving memory that we announce the passing of Bonnie Scott (nee McPhee) at the age of 85.
She is predeceased by her parents, Bob and Mildred. Siblings Daphene and Peter as well as her loving husband Andy.
Bonnie is survived by her sister Arlene and brother Terry. Nieces Leanne (Dave) Glenn, Chantel McPhee (James) and nephew Rob McPhee. As well as her great niece and nephew Dalea and Tayber Glenn as well as the numerous friends she had.
Bonnie was born in Edmonton and raised on the family homestead in the Glenn Leslie area east of Grande Prairie. She rode horse back to Somme school for grades 1-9. She attended high school in Grande Prairie where she stayed in the dorm with her life long friend and cousin Jean Rockerts (Moon). After graduation her and Arlene moved to Edmonton where they rented a small downtown apartment with Florence Noyes. Bonnie soon moved on to Calgary where she began her career at AGT. At the age of 40 she married Andy on New Years Eve. Andy always laughed this was the best time to get married because you could get a tax break! They relocated to Strathmore where they remained for the rest of their lives. Bonnie retired at the age of 50. Her and Andy were avid travelers and enjoyed many cruises and trips to all parts of the world. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and tinkering with her plants. Bonnie and Andy always had an open door encouraging family and friends to stop by for a bbq or happy hour visit with lots of laughs and story telling.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the wonderful caring staff at Sagewood care center in Strathmore, Judy Jamieson from Kindred Companions, and to Sandra Hagen and Laverne Lien for their dedication, love and care to both Bonnie and Andy over the last few years. We can never express our sincere gratitude for all you have done.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made directly to Wheatland and Area Hospice Society (Box 2154 Strathmore, AB T1P 1K2 or www.wheatlandhospice.ca) or the charity of one's choice.
