Obituary of Bradley Paul Stangness

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Bradley Stangness of Strathmore, Alberta, on December 2, 2022 at the age of 52 years.

Born at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary to loving parents Gordon and Lorraine Stangness.  He is survived by his daughter Katelyn and his son Jake, parents Gordon and Lorraine Stangness, brothers Greg (Anita), Shawn (Deanna) and Tyler, nieces and nephews, James (Taryn), Ryan, Zach, Ryleigh and Grayden. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Madeline and John Vermunt and his paternal grandparents Nels and Leona Stangness.

Brad took all his schooling in Strathmore, riding the bus from the family farm south of Strathmore. He graduated from Strathmore High School in 1988 and went on to complete his Engineering Degree in Computer Science from U of A in Edmonton. He had a long-term career as a Project Manager, Estimator and Superintendent in the Civil Engineering Field. His passion and diligence for his work was highly recognized by his peers and employers throughout the industry.

Brad was a devoted father to his daughter Katelyn and son Jake. They enjoyed spending time on the family farm doing such things as building a huge tree house, planting and tending a garden, playing with animals, riding motor bikes and enjoyed most outdoor activities. He was very nostalgic and made every effort to preserve the unique old buildings on the farm and had a strong sentiment of things of the past.

The Family will be having a Celebration of Brad’s life sometime in the New Year.
