Obituary of Ronald Lionel Ricard

We are sad to announce that Ronald Lionel Ricard passed away on February 12, 2023, at the age of 71, due to complications with COPD, in a hospital in Calgary, Alberta.

Ron was born and raised in Standard, Alberta, and lived in the area for most of his life. He was a talented musician who played the trumpet and had a deep love for music and art. Ron worked as the CFO for Rosebud School of the Arts, in Rosebud, AB, where he spent many of his best years. He enjoyed travel, camping, deep conversations, and reading novels.

Ronald is survived by his former spouse and mother of his children, Kenna Ricard; his children, Luke and Kyla Ricard; and his grandchildren, Rowan and Mila Ricard. He is also survived by his siblings Joanne Pierrard, Carol Bryson, Barbara Cosgrove, and John Ricard; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Ron's life will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Rosebud Church in Rosebud, Alberta. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made directly to the Canadian Mental Health Association.

Ron will be deeply missed by his family and friends, and his memory will be carried on by the friends and family who knew him.
