Obituary of Lana Marie Sproul

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Lana Marie Sproul, aged 47, of Strathmore Alberta. Lana passed peacefully at Skypointe Hospice in Calgary after fighting a brave and courageous battle with Melanoma.

Lana was born in Saint John, New Brunswick to Cecil Gardiner and Betty (Doyle) on June 7th, 1975. Lana later met the love of her life - Jason Sproul, with whom she created a beautiful marriage and life with their three children. Lana loved being a mother, she always went above and beyond for her children and she loved them fiercely.

In 2003, Lana and Jason made the decision to move their family to Alberta. This cross-country adventure led them to create a new life filled with many valuable friends, memories, and opportunities.

Shortly after making the move, Lana found work at Indus school. Lana truly valued her work and was passionate about helping children. She loved her many coworkers and students over the years - and they loved her in return. Lana led an exceptional life, both professionally and within her family. Her family is extremely proud of her, and her legacy.

Lana will be remembered by her husband, Jason; children Emily (Eric), Matthew (Chantal), Luke (Harmony); mother, Betty; father, Cecil; mother-in-law, Debbie; brother, Colin (Devyn), step-sister Jen; sister-in-law, Melissa (Chris), brother-in-law, James (Belinda), many neices and nephews; best friend Kim, as well as many other friends, and her 'Indus Family.'

Lana is predeceased by her step-father Bob; father-in-law Lenny; grandparents Patrick, Elizabeth, Robert, and Joyce; aunts Dawn, Elaine, and Patricia; and uncle John.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any charity that contributes to continuing Lana's work of either helping children seek out educational opportunities, or assisting children with autism spectrum disorder.
