Obituary of Charles Leroy CARLSON

CARLSON, Charles Leroy May 8, 1934 – October 15, 2014 Charles Leroy Carlson passed away peacefully on October 15, 2014 at the age of 80 years after battling cancer. Charles was born on May 8, 1934 in Nightingale, Alberta. On March 6, 1957 he married Joy Duncan and they raised four children; Marilyn (Ian) Chizmazia, Glenn (Donna), Ken (Kathleen) and Marlene (James) Millis. He had eleven grandchildren; Evan, Erin (Garry), Josie (Mike), Laurel (Kyle), Ryan (Michelle), Kyle, James, Joel, Wyatt, Megan and Cody; and three great-grandchildren, Spencer, Olivia and Sophie. He is survived by two brothers, Bob and John (Laura); sister, Helen (Bob) Elliott; sister in law, Jean; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Hannah and George; sister Fanny; brother George; and sister in-law, Marie. Charles enjoyed farming, fixing anything, fishing, watching curling and he especially loved playing crib. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 at Hope Community Covenant Church (245 Brent Blvd, Strathmore, Alberta) at 2:00 p.m. A reception for family and friends will follow the service at the church.
