Obituary of Jean Wendy McCUBBIN

McCUBBIN, Jean Wendy

June 25, 1944 – October 3, 2014

Jean passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, October 3, 2014. She will be greatly missed but not forgotten by her son Michael and her daughter-in-law Nicola, as well as her brother Les and many other family and friends. She was predeceased by her son Paul (Brown); mother Ivy; father Harry; brothers Harry, Frank, and Roy; and her sisters Joan, and Joyce. Jean was well respected and she will be lovingly remembered by all those who knew her. Jean was born in Preston, England, and moved to Airdrie in 1973 where she lived in the surrounding rural area and worked at Palliser Furniture until 1983. After which she moved back to England and resided there until 2008. In 2008, Jean once again returned to Airdrie to be closer to her son Michael and his wife Nicola, who had moved to the area the year prior. Michael and Nicola would like to take this opportunity to thank their very dear friend Janet Loose for her support during this sad time. Jean’s family would like to thank the Standard Fire Department and volunteers, EMS, S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance, and the staff at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary for all of their help. Also, a special thanks to Scott Jensen, Janet Loose, and family and friends for their support and kind wishes. Jean was cremated on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 and will have a service in Preston, England, at a later date. To send condolences, please click on the link below.
