Jennifer Melissa Pounder, 57, of Stirling-Rawdon, ON, beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 27th, 2023, in Strathmore, AB.
A heartfelt memorial service will be held on August 29th, 2023, at 5PM MST (7PM EST), with Pastor John of Strathmore Alliance Church officiating. The service will be conducted both online and in person at Strathmore Alliance Church in Strathmore, AB, and at Campbellford Baptist Church in Campbellford, ON. In accordance with her wishes, Jennifer was cremated, and Wheatland Funeral Home will be assisting with the arrangements.
Jennifer was born to the late Marjorie and Chaz Wellman on December 29th, 1965, in Belleville, ON. After graduating from Centre Hastings Secondary School in 1984, she embarked on a heartfelt journey of motherhood, raising a family that became her pride and joy. During this period, her home was not only a sanctuary for her own children but also a haven for many troubled youths who found comfort in her presence. Years later, Jennifer pursued higher education at Sir Stanford Flemming College. In 2011, she earned diplomas in Accounting and Materials Management. Jennifer's wisdom and expertise found a home at Fleming College as an instructor, a role she cherished before embracing a new challenge as Controller at Quality Mechanical.
Her professional achievements were many, but it was her hobbies that revealed her generous heart. Jennifer found solace in quilting, creating beautiful baby quilts with her dear friend Pat. They were donated to hospitals throughout Guatemala, a gesture that touched lives far beyond her community.
Family was Jennifer's cornerstone, and she is lovingly remembered by her husband, Robert Pounder; her children, Natasha Avila and Charles Pounder; her adoring granddaughters, Aurelia Pounder and Octavia Avila; her sisters, Fay Henderson and Melinda Troy; and nephews, John, Greg, and David Henderson and Leigh Troy. Her parents and nephew David Troy predeceased her.
Jennifer's warmth, wisdom, and loving nature will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. Those wishing to honor her memory are encouraged to contribute to Breast Cancer Research Foundation or a charity that reflects Jennifer's values and interests.
