Obituary of Beryl Patricia Mackay
Peacefully, on December 2, 2023, Beryl Patricia MacKay received her wings at the age of 85.
Beryl’s early adult life was not easy. Being a single mother of three boys and a fighter throughout her life (more like stubborn), she often worked 2 or 3 jobs to support her sons, which was not easy in those days. In 1969 she met Ralph MacKay, the love of her life. They married in 1970 and she had a 4th son in 1971. Her greatest inspirations in life were her husband and four sons.
Having lived all over Canada and in Germany, Beryl loved to travel with Ralph to many countries such as Greece and Morocco. She always smiled and laughed when she talked of their adventures. These were her favourite times.
Born in Calgary to William and Margaret Pooler, Beryl is survived by her sons, Robyn Murcar of Edmonton, Ricki (Diana) Murcar of Ridge Manor, FL, William (Willie) (Lisa) MacKay of Airdrie and sister Maureen (Greg) Ramage of Calgary, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is predeceased by Ralph, her husband of 43 years, son Brian Murcar, her parents and brother William (Bill) Pooler.
A private gathering of the family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Parkinson’s Association of Alberta.
