Obituary of William Timothy Tibbett

Tim was son to Margaret (deceased) Born May 25, 1956 in Barrie, ON, and passed on January 26, 2024 in Strathmore, AB, after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. He leaves behind his loving wife Christine, sister Brenda (Dick), brother Chris (deceased), and brother Kevin (Mary). Daughter Tammy, son Thomas (deceased). He also leaves behind caring step-daughters, step-sons, several grandchildren, nieces and cousins.

Tim served in the military from March, 1975 until his retirement in 1995. Over the length of his military career he spent time in Gage Town, New Brunswick, Petawawa and London, ON, attaining the rank of Sergeant. His military career also spanned 2 peacekeeping tours in Cypress. After his military career he spent 15 years with Ipsco Steel, St. John’s Ambulance, and ended his work life at Costco East Hills, AB.

Tim will be missed for his unique sense of humour, love of animals, his passion for cooking, and the mess that followed. Growing up Tim was a sports enthusiast for hockey, basketball, and track and field. Tim had a special place in his heart for holidays such as Halloween with Christmas taking top place. He delighted in dressing up as Santa to bring magic to his grandchildren each year.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Muller and to the amazing Acute/Palliative care team at the Strathmore Hospital for the support and care provided.

A Celebration of Life for Tim will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Strathmore Branch # 10.
