Christopher Hall

Obituary of Christopher Roy Hall

Christopher was born in Toronto, Ontario, moved to Newmarket at age 2, and then moved with his family to Calgary when he was 7.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda, his soul mate for over 33 years; sister Valerie (Rod); and brother Bob (Debra). Chris was predeceased by his parents, Hugh John Hall and Joan Irene Skelcher.

Chris easily made friends from playing baseball and on his beloved hockey team , the Bulls, and of course playing golf. An avid sports fan, he particularly loved the Stampeders and the C.F.L.  He attended 19 Grey Cups all over the country!

His stories were epic and told many times. Jokes and accents were his specialty.

Brenda and Chris loved their dogs: Aspen, Bailey, Ryley and Kona. Their fur babies were a huge part of their lives.  They lived in Harvest Hills for 29 years, moving to the Lakes of Muirfield, a gated, golf community in Lyalta.

He was an awesome travel agent and a master of surprises.  He made all of Brenda’s birthdays special. They took many sun vacations to places such as Cuba, D.R., Mexico, Surprise, Arizona, and best of all, Hawaii.  Beaches were his happy place and he loved being outdoors.

Spontaneous, kind, and generous, Chris easily made new friends.  He worked for the City of Calgary as a legal surveyor for 37 years.  He often joked that he would be a great taxi driver, knowing the best and shortest routes!

Alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency slowly took all that he loved away and, as he said, it stole his life.  He had numerous health challenges including orthopedic and was a real fighter up until the end. Donations to Alpha 1 Foundation of Calgary or the Calgary Humane Society are appreciated.

Chris endured chronic pain and even to his dying day, he had that classic smile.  He will be missed by many.

A Celebration of Life will be held in June with a golf tournament, dinner, and an awesome party which is exactly what he wanted.  Information to follow at a later date.
