Obituary of Lorne Henry MILLER

MILLER, Lorne Henry Sr. July 21, 1945 – May 27, 2014 Lorne Henry Miller Sr. passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at his home in Strathmore at the age of 68 years. Lorne is survived by Gail Marilyn Miller, his loving and supportive wife of almost 48 years, and whom had been with him for 55 ½ years! Lorne was the proud father of two boys, Lorne Miller Jr. of Drayton Valley and Trever (Sam) Miller of Strathmore. He also had seven grandchildren, Heather, Alex, Cassidy, Kelsey, Aden, Sara, and Mason; and a great-grandchild Ryder. Lorne was born in the Earl Grey, Saskatchewan district. He moved to Regina in 1954, where he moved across the street from Gail Marilyn Marcia. They were married September 4, 1965. Lorne was a butcher by trade, he worked for Intercontinental Packers for 12 ½ years, they then moved to White City and then Montmartre, Saskatchewan, where he was a partner and continued to work as a butcher at Miller’s Abattoir. In 1986 they moved to Drayton Valley and he began a career with Weyerhaeuser. In 2007, they moved to Strathmore for retirement and into a house where they lived only for a few years while they worked at building his current house and turning it into a home. He will always be remembered as a caring and loving husband, an avid fisherman, a handyman Jack of all trades – master of none, wonderful father, and a fantastic Pappy. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Lord of All Lutheran Church (Strathmore) at 11:00 a.m. To send condolences, please click on the link below. Send Condolences
