Obituary of David Thomas REINHARDT
REINHARDT, David Thomas
November 6, 1966 – March 30, 2014
It is with deep sadness that we announce the loss of our dear husband, father and son. David passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side after his courageous battle with lymphoma. David is survived by his loving family, wife Karen of 29 years and daughters Melissa (Dan) Hurt and Ashley, his parents Alfred and Shirley Reinhardt, brothers Doug (Shauna) Reinhardt (Emma and Cole), Darcy (Lisa) Reinhardt (Colton, Blake and Cassidy) and sister Liza (Greg) Thomsen (Steen and Soren). Parents in law Harley and Glenda Stewart and brother in law Scott (Shannon) Stewart (Alex, Breanna and Sammy); as well as his many aunts, uncles and cousins. Waiting for David in heaven is his brother Stephen (1967) and grandparents Edmund and Marjorie Mathieu and Emil and Emma Reinhardt. David spent his entire life in the Strathmore area and married his high school sweetheart in 1985. Together they bought a farm and raised their family. David especially loved silaging and branding time on the farm and loved to feed cattle. His animals were never wanting for food. His greatest passions were team roping and visiting. He would visit with anyone and everyone and especially enjoyed talking to and helping kids. He was affectionately known as “Super Dave” and for being more than a bit of a trouble maker. He will always be remembered for his big goofy grin that would always bring a smile to your face. He was loved by many and will be forever missed by all who knew him. A celebration of his life will take place on Thursday April 10, 2014 at the Strathmore Civic Center, (120 Brentwood Blvd., Strathmore) at 2:00 p.m. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the many doctors and nurses that tried their best to help David throughout his battle. In lieu of flowers , donations may be made in David’s memory to the Calgary Health Trust, (#800, 11012 Macleod Trail SE, Calgary, AB T2J 6A5 or at www.calgaryhealthtrust.ca) to provide comfort items for patients while in the PLC Hematology Treatment Room or Unit 57 of the Tom Baker Cancer Center.
