Obituary of Edward John Leslie McNAIR

McNAIR, Edward Ed McNair of Beiseker Alberta passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the Strathmore Hospital on Tuesday morning December 3, 2013 at the age of 90 years. Ed was born on March 9, 1923 in Strathmore, Alberta then lived in the Beiseker area all of his life. Ed’s achievements were numerous, most notably running a successful gravel business in the Beiseker area. Ed also loved his farm and ranch settling in on his father’s farm stead along the Rosebud River. Ed also served on several boards including the Beiseker Credit Union, Beiseker REA and the Rockyford Recreation Board. On March 31, 1959 Ed married local farm girl Dorothy Hempel. Together they celebrated the births of four children who have all married and settled in the Beiseker and Rockyford areas. Ed is survived by his wife Dorothy McNair of 54 years, his four children Ann (Rejean) Gariepy, Monty (Juanita) McNair, Miles (Geanette) McNair, Roger McNair, grand children, Danielle and Richard Gariepy, Matthew and Mitchell McNair, Evan, Amber, Sarah, and Andrew McNair, Stephanie Dale and Cody Dale-McNair. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 9, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Beiseker, Alberta at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Strathmore Hospital Foundation (200 Brent Blvd, Strathmore, T1P 1J9).
