Obituary of Kathleen Joyce HELMER

HELMER, Kathleen Joyce February 15, 1944 – July 7, 2013 With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of this amazing lady Kathleen Joyce Helmer. Joyce leaves behind the love of her life, best friend and husband Jim of 52 years. Even though she did not fulfill her 60 year contract of marriage, we know she will in spirit. She leaves behind her son Ken and his spouse Nancy, grandchildren Jordon and Maddison; her son Rob and his spouse Lisa, and grandchildren Anthony and Brittany. Leaving behind also is Joyce’s mother Elaine Fletcher; sisters Jackie Hynes (Max), Mary Dobbs, Diane Morin, Joanne Scarlett (fiancé Frank Markusic) and numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by her father Jack Fletcher, brothers-in-law Brian Dobbs and Larry Morin. Joyce was also an honorary mother to David and Allison Williams, grandmother to Alysa, Alexandra, Bronwyn, Ariana and great grandmother to Taylor, and also honorary mother to Rick and Cindy Brilz, and grandmother to Krista and Jessica. Joyce and Jim spent many happy hours at their home away from home playing bingo at the Grey Eagle. Joyce will be missed by all who knew her. She was like a ray of sunshine when she walked or rode her scooter into a room. Joyce had a kind loving heart that touched everyone she came into contact with and opened her heart to all. Joyce had a soul of an angel. A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at a later date.
