Obituary of Major Philip Charles CD PPCLI PATERSON

PATERSON, Major Philip Charles CD PPCLI (retired) January 5, 1948 – September 12, 2012 Philip Charles Paterson (Pat), age 64, passed away after a lengthy illness at the Nova Scotia Hospital on September 12, 2012. He was the son of Reginald and Eileen Paterson of Dundas, Ontario. A graduate of Royal Roads and RMC, he spent the majority of his career with the Army. After retirement he worked for many NGOs, among them Care Canada and Handicap International, as well as the UN. He is survived and will be sorely missed by his beloved wife of 32 years, Colleen, and their four children Megan of Ottawa, Michael of Strathmore, Evan (Cathy) of Calgary and Jonathan of Calgary. He is also survived by his parents and his siblings Jeffrey (Flore) of Brampton, Lesley of Ottawa, and John (Pamela) of Calgary. We will all miss his sense of humour and fun. In addition, he leaves behind four grandchildren, three nephews and two nieces. We wish to acknowledge the care shown by various care providers, especially those of Mount Hope Hospital, Dartmouth NS. A family memorial service was held in Strathmore, Alberta on September 16, 2012. For Pat, life was an adventure, one he always enjoyed.
