Obituary of Douglas Shirley HILTZ

HILTZ, Douglas *Note Funeral Time* July 14, 1944 – May 23, 2017 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Doug Hiltz on May 23, 2017 at Strathmore Hospital, at the age of 72 years. Doug was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He will be sorely missed by his loving wife Sandra; his children Jamie (Michelle), Jennifer, Graeme (Sophie), and Jessica (Tyler); and grandchildren Mike, Joey, Alex, Austin, Angelina and Justin. Doug is predeceased by his Mother Dolly, Father Sandrew and Brother Garnett. He is survived by his siblings Doris, Becky, Gert, Rose, Sherwin, Ernie, Danny and David. Doug was born in Kentville, Nova Scotia. He loved working with his hands, doing carpentry work, working on his vehicles and fishing. He also loved spending time with his family. Doug worked in the Agriculture industry for the last 20 years and, before that, he was a welder at a machine shop in Nova Scotia. Doug will be sadly missed by his family and friends. In keeping with Doug’s wishes cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Wheatland Funeral Chapel, Strathmore at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers (due to allergies) the family asks that a donation be made in Doug’s name to a charity of your choice.
