Obituary of Claude Louis GAUVIN

GAUVIN, Claude Louis Claude Louis Gauvin, age 46, died suddenly Tuesday, September 27, 2011. A native of Rimouski, Quebec, he had long made his home in Strathmore and had recently moved to Chestermere. Leaving his unmistakable mark on Strathmore, Claude was the co-founder and President of Trendsetter Homes which built and helped hundreds of people achieve their dreams of owning a beautiful home. Every street has been touched by his love of building community for, and with, the people of Strathmore. Being involved in the Chamber of Commerce, the Strathmore Agricultural Society, The Lions Club, ARGRA, the Strathmore Development Committee, Strathmore Heritage Days and other numerous volunteer commitments, Claude had an unwavering love and commitment to his community, both personally and professionally. He is survived by his life partner Kevin; his mother Georgette; his father Yvon; brothers Marc, John, and Pascal; as well as his dearest friends Wes and Andre; Dave and Alenka; Jennifer, Ashley, Lauren and Mark; Blake and Darcy; Frank; and his faithful companion Domino. Claude was the eternal optimist, always saying, “Pinch yourself, it doesn’t get much better than this!” Claude was an avid animal lover; in lieu of flowers please make donations directly to the Calgary Humane Society (4455 110 Ave. S.E., Calgary, T2C 2T7).
