Obituary of George Raymond PECK

PECK, George Raymond March 9, 1931 – August 31, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce that George lost his battle with lung cancer on August 31, 2011. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 53 years Marian; his daughter Shelley; and son Jason. He will also be lovingly remembered by is three beautiful granddaughters Brittany, Madison, and Charlene. He spent much of his time with the love of his life Ava Marie, his great-granddaughter who is now three years old. George spent most of his life in the trucking industry starting as a driver as a young man and spending his later years in management. He was transferred to Vancouver where he was with Gill Interprovincial Lines as Branch Manager, and Alltrans as director of Safety and Security. He also worked in the safety area with the Alberta Trucking Association for a number of years. Before retirement, he was also with the Reimer Group, also in safety management. The family would like to extend our deepest thanks to the Strathmore Hospital Staff for the wonderful care George received. A special thanks to Dr. Douglas who took care of George in his last days. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Strathmore Alliance Church at 1:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined.
