Obituary of Allan Brent MACDONNELL

MACDONNELL, Allan Brent On Wednesday, April 27th, Brent MacDonnell of Strathmore, Alberta, quietly ended his battle with cancer surrounded by those closest to him, one day shy of his 60th birthday. Brent was a wonderful father to Rhiannon, Jesse, and Tommy, and loving husband of 29 years to Carol (nee Fawcett). He is survived by his mother, Merle (nee Vaughan), and younger brothers Creighton and Vaughan, and predeceased by his father, Andrew Allan “Mac”. Born in Yorkton Saskatchewan on April 28th, 1951, Brent later moved with his family to Calgary where he completed his education. He went on to serve the community for 25 years “on the job” as a member of the Calgary Police Service (reg #: 1705), retiring as a Detective in 1998. At Brent’s request, no formal funeral services will be held. However, a memorial reception will be held on Friday, May 6th, 2011 at Strathmore Royal Canadian Legion (230-2nd Avenue, Strathmore) at 4:00 p.m. All who would like to join the family in sharing stories about, and remembering, Brent’s life are invited.
