Obituary of Holden James Goebel

Holden James Goebel of Strathmore, AB passed away at the age of 15 months. Holden was such a brave boy who fought to the very end until the progression of his lung disease became too much. He is survived by his parents Tyson and Kelin; his Papa and Nana, Ernie and Marlene Goebel, Grandpa and Grandma, David and Judy Doiron; his great grandma Mary Christie. He will be sadly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Holden had a beaming smile and the brightest eyes that brought Joy to everyone he met. He impacted so many lives in such a short time and will forever hold a spot in the hearts of many. His Doctors and Nurses used to joke that Holden could write his own medical textbook called “The Book Of Holden” because he certainly didn’t follow the normal textbook rules and theories. He had his own special plan. He beat the odds time and time again, leaving his medical team in awe. We think the “Book Of Holden” would share some pretty amazing insight. He showed us how to love fiercely, live for the moment, and to never give up. He taught us about true hope, faith and grace. He showed us that there is always something to smile about even on a bad day. He showed us that anything is possible, and that some rules are meant to be broken. He showed us how to be brave and strong even when we feel weak. We are so grateful that God chose us to be Holdys parents even if it was only for a short time, he taught us a lifetime of lessons, we are so proud of who he was. Our Holdy boy has left this world a better place. He will live on in our hearts forever. A celebration service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Hope Community Covenant Church (245 Brent Blvd, Strathmore).
