Obituary of Sylvia Sidney CHRISTENSEN

CHRISTENSEN, Sylvia Sidney Sylvia was born in Standard, AB on July 31, 1936 and passed away peacefully on November 13, 2017 at Seton Age Care, Calgary. Sylvia was predeceased by her husband Harold (1984), son Stanley (2008), parents Sid (1984) & Mary (1997) Busch. She is survived by her children Janette (Murray) Van Cise, Mark (Laura), Ed (Cathy), and Sherry (Paul) Orobko, her siblings, Geri Cathcart, Elaine Klemmensen, Margaret Thomson, Joe Busch, and Barbara Palmer. Also left to mourn their “Mama” are her six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. For 45 years Sylvia was involved in the trucking industry culminating in her starting her own company (Alberta Starline Trucking) in 1990 until her retirement in 2009. Words cannot express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Seton Age Care, 2nd floor, for their loving & compassionate care of Mom. We will be forever grateful. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Standard Beautification Committee (cheques to be made out to the Village of Standard, Standard Beautification Committee in the memo line).
