Obituary of Olga NEWTON

NEWTON, Olga September 9, 1931 – November 12, 2017 The family is sad to announce the passing of Olga Newton at Sagewood Age Care in Strathmore after a lengthy battle with dementia. She was predeceased by her loving husband Bud in 1997. Olga raised all her children in the same house on 3 Ave in Strathmore where she and Bud lived all their life. The house grew as the family grew. She took great pride in maintaining a garden and home for all to enjoy. Fresh baking was always on and all were welcome. She is survived by many loving family members, daughter Debra (Terry) Dempsey, and grandchildren Brad (Melody) McClain and Deanne (Aaron) Kirk. Daughter Darlene (Gordon) Koester, grandchildren Michelle (Jordon) Hilton, Bradie (Dan) Monro, Matthew (Andrea) Koester, and Adam (Julia) Koester. Daughter Donna (Neil) Gongaware, grandchildren Carlie (Brooke) Powell. Son Michael (Vicki) Klinger, grandchildren Tara (Justin) Jolly, Jeremy (Audrey) Klinger and Rochelle (Quentin) Klinger. Daugher Dianne (Stan) Ulm, grandchildren Richie (Alicia) Ulm and Reanna (Dylane) Ulm. Daughter Belinda (Duane) Clack. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, one brother, El (Noreen) Fedewich and three nieces with eight great nieces and nephews. The family thanks all the caring and loving staff of Sagewood for making Olga as comfortable as possible for the final four years of her life. An inurnment service will take place on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Rockyview Garden of Peace Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 18 at Strathmore United Church at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to be made to the Strathmore Volunteer Fire Department (c/o Town of Strathmore, 680 Westchester Road Strathmore, AB T1P 1J1).
