Obituary of Laurence Van Wezel

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lawrence "Sooky" Van Wezel announce his passing on Friday, August 10, 2018 at the age of 75 years.  Lawrence was pre-deceased by his parents John and Kathleen Van Wezel, his brother Anthony Van Wezel, nephews Brian Van Wezel and Peter Lupichuk. He is survived by his siblings Harry (Jeanette), Isabella (John) and Ken, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Lawrence loved fishing and the outdoors and loved to talk about old times with family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Murphy and the staff at the Drayton Valley Hospital for the excellent care they provided to Lawrence, as well as the staff at the Shangri Lodge.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at St. Anthony’s Parish (4708 - 50 Ave, Drayton Valley, AB) at 1:00 p.m. A second service will be held on Friday, August 17 at Wheatland Funeral Chapel (202 Lakeside Blvd, Strathmore) at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Strathmore, AB.
