Obituary of Margaret Grace Harris

The family of Margaret Grace Harris is sad to announce the passing of their mom on July 24, 2018. She is predeceased by her husband, Ray Horace Harris; daughter Bonnie Gail Harris; parents Violet and Charles Pitcaithly; and brother George Pitcaithly. Margaret is survived by her children Trudy (Norbert) Kondla, Linda (Al) Curwin, Ray (Susan) Harris, Fred (Karen) Harris, Wendy Harris, Debbie (Gary) Eslinger, Candy (Keith) Turley, and Sandy (Denise) Harris; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren!

Margaret was born in Calgary at the Calgary General Hospital on October 12, 1927. She and her older brother George grew up in Calgary, East Calgary area. Margaret and her husband grew up in the same area. Margaret and Ray started dating during the Second World War. They married after the war and settled in Calgary and started their family. When Ray was injured in Calgary, the family moved to a farm in the Standard area. They raised their nine children on the farm.

Mom loved it when her children and their families would come to the farm. There was always lots of laughter, dancing, singing, and mischief going on. Mom made sure everybody was always well fed. We will miss your smile and laughter but know you are among the angels.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 at Wheatland Funeral Chapel at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Long Term Care Unit at Drumheller Hospital (351, 9 St. NW, Drumheller, AB, T0J 0Y1).
