Obituary of Jacob Edward Thiessen

Jake passed away in Strathmore on July 17, 2018. He was born in Namaka on December 3, 1932. Jake is predeceased by his first wife, Margaret Isaak; parents Abraham and Sarah; son Darrell and his wife Brenda, and their son Sheldon; great-granddaughter Savhanah; and brother Abraham. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Teresa; sons Lavern (Belinda), Danny (Karla), and Terry (Jean); daughter Debbie (Calvin); grandchildren Gwendalynn, Travis, and their mother Marcia, Kimberly, Jeffery, Darren, Bobby, Jamie, Jason, and Sarah; great-grandchildren Kyrsten, Jasmine, Breanna, Alex, Nolan, Mattea, Wolfgang, Ryley, Jace, and Alexah; brothers Art and Rudy (Elsie); and many nieces and nephews. Jake was a kind and generous man who loved the ocean as much as he loved the prairies. He had a passion for fishing and hunting and provided all of the kids with plenty of canned, smoked, and fresh fish. He enjoyed listening to music, spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids, and especially family get togethers at his property on the Bow River. Jake and Teresa also enjoyed many walks along the ocean in Victoria, B.C. He will be dearly missed by Teresa and the rest of the family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Strathmore Alliance Church, at 2:00 p.m.
