Obituary of Arthur Samuel James Yerex

Art went peacefully to his house in glory on July 12, 2018 with family by his side. He was born Nov 12, 1916 in La Conner Washington but his family moved to Okotoks AB in 1918 to run the towns electricity plant owned by his brother Edward Yerex. The family lived on a farm near Jofree AB for 7 years before moving to Calgary. Art married Reta McRae from Craigmyle AB in 1939 as he worked as a mechanic for his father Norman McRae. Art taught the Millar Bible School in Saskatchewan for 11 years before moving to Vancouver BC where he started and operated Apex Industrial Building Movers until 1982 when he retired. He moved later to Strathmore where he volunteered as visitation Pastor for many years. In Feb 2000 he married Gladys Klassen whom he had previously taught at MMBI Bible School. Art was predeceased by three sisters, one brother and by his wife Reta (McRae) Yerex. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Gladys; children Darcy (Fern) of Calgary and Reta (Dennis) of Kelowna; grandchildren Holly (Lee) and their children Brett, Tanner, and Paige, Darin (Robin) and their children Odessa Doell (Tyler), Talena, and Jediah, Danny (Alexandra) and their children Daniel, Lilianna, Elijah, Benjamin, and David, Darcy, and Dana, and her children Sophie and Lexi; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Strathmore Alliance Church.
